— This summer I interned at NASA JPL, where I designed the interface of ASTTRO, a new tool for the Mars 2020 rover mission that allows science teams to explore the Martian surface and create targets for activity planning.
Visually, my work touched most of the UI. In terms of feature design and development, I focused on the top toolbar, ECAM (panoramas) targeting, publishing targets, and filtering.
My concepts were approved for implementation and during my internship I was able to commit a number of them to the codebase, thanks to an internship extension of two weeks. Remaining implementation is being carried out by the Ops Lab team.
